There are four different types of CJASN Subject Collections: Special Collection, Special Series, Original Research, and Invited Materials. Each of the collection types are explained below. Links are provided to each collection.
Special Collection
- COVID-19: contains original research articles related to COVID-19
- COVID-19: In Context: contains contextual articles such as Global and Patient Perspectives, Feature Articles, Reviews, and Editorials
- Advancing American Kidney Health Collection: offers perspectives from leading kidney care experts from all aspects of the industry—government to policy leaders to treatment providers
- Best of ASN Journals 2020: CJASN, JASN & Kidney360 Collection: presents the high-impact articles that were discussed by the respective journal editorial teams during the “Best of ASN Journals: CJASN, JASN & Kidney360” session at Kidney Week 2020 Reimagined. These articles cover diverse, novel, and clinically applicable science across a variety of nephrology disciplines.
- Best of ASN Journals 2019: JASN and CJASN Collection: highlights innovative clinical, translational, and basic research in nephrology published in 2019 and presented during Kidney Week 2019 at the “Best of ASN Journals” session.
- Disparities and Workforce Diversity Collection: includes research addressing societal inequities in the care and treatment of patients with kidney diseases
- Kidney Disease and Diabetes Collection: reflects the rich contributions to new knowledge on this disease published in CJASN and JASN
- Kidney Health Initiative Collection: comprises articles about different projects stemming from the KHI, a partnership between ASN and the FDA
Special Series
Each year, the CJASN editors create a series of articles on a particular topic. The complete series, or collection, is built over time. When the series is complete, all of the articles are brought together in one single PDF that can be downloaded and used as a reference.

Invited Material
The goal of CJASN Invited Materials are to put findings reported in an original research article published in CJASN in context of our current knowledge and/or clinical practice and how the findings from the research paper moves the field forward to inform future research and/or influence clinical practice.
