  • a Tubular vacuoles were divided into microvacuoles and macrovacuoles, according to their morphologic features (size/swelling of tubular epithelial cells and nuclear changes). The extent of vacuolization was scored on the basis of the fraction of tubules with vacuoles at ×10 magnification in the most involved area (0, absent; 1, <25%; 2, 25 to 50%; 3, >50%).
